It’s party season in this corner of the Francés, which is good if you like culture noise music and running bulls, but not so good if you are a perigrino who wants to sleep at night. I am here as a hospitalera in Viana and will be right in the thick of things. From Saturday Sept10 until Wednesday September 14, there will be nightly music in the town plaza until 4 am nightly. Bull running starts on Sunday the 11th at 1 pm and 7:30 pm daily (through the center of town, along the Camino. The crowd barriers are already in place!) Logroño will have a week of fiestas starting on Saturday the 17th, which may impact the noise level and bed availability. Ear plugs recommended!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

It was a lovely surprise to come into town and feel the giddiness of the locals dressed in their whites with red kerchiefs and everything decorated for a party, barriers up and once cleaned up I headed to the plaza to catch in some of the festivities and looked into the ring to see the boys trying to place their ribbons on the horns of the bull who was hellbent in getting to this young man. I got some good photos in spite of my lack of clear view by elevating my phone above the crowds. I was pleased that I attended despite my being tired and my very painful multiple foot blisters. I was staying about two blocks from the plaza and was too tired to object to the nightly celebrations🤗

Hello. I am considering walking the Camino for the first time this fall, probably beginning the third week of September in St. Jean. But I keep reading about how crowded the Camino is, including...
I've just read this article from La Voz de Galicia. A Camino guide and frequent pilgrim with over 30 years of Camino experience calling for some greater regulation of numbers - at least on the...
Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Big stupid question: what if, in the middle of a stage, I realize I can't really walk anymore? For whatever reason, fatigue, pain, etc. How others have treated this? Are there buses usually...
Hi everyone: I'm hoping to hike the Camino Frances in July/Aug. I would love to, ahead of time, order and ship ahead a pair of my favorite hiking shoes (Hokas) so that, roughly halfway through...
