Why do so many people on here jump to criticise / argue?

Please indulge me. I am a long time lurker on this forum, and have been fortunate enough to arrive in Santiago 16 times on camino. I am curious why questions (often from newbies) regularly descend into a spiral of vitriol? There is so much great information on here, given the vast pooled knowledge, but also so much anger. I do note that certain members are more prone to such posts. Why?

Sixteen? That’s rather a lot. Do you live locally?

In my view there is less vitriol to be found on here than any other internet forum in which I have participated, bar none. The standard of moderation on here is exemplary and curates a superb repository of calm, civil and experienced comment with respect to the various caminos. If you think it’s rough here, you really need to get out more.

If you think certain members are more forthright than others; and you want to spend your time enquiring as to why, then there is a direct message option available to you.

I can't see that this is a particularly useful thread. I agree with @henrythedog that compared to other internet forums this one is very civil.

Speaking as a moderator, I'd say that it's mostly to the credit of the forum members, as we don't get as many reports/complaints as I'd expect from a forum with this many members.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
