On the BBC News website is a report that Glen was feared dead as his tracking device had failed in Portugal with fears that he may have met his end by flying into electricity pylons. The good news is that he has reached Africa at last with his tracker now working again & recording that he successfully completed a mammoth journey to Morocco.

I was just considering birds and the Camino earlier today.

Winter temperatures came on very fast in my little neck of the woods and it has been a struggle to keep the backyard feeders filled for a rather demanding (and motley) crew of finches, sparrows, juncos, chickadees, quail, and Eurasian doves.

Now here I am doing them a favor and yet.... there are a few sparrows - and it is JUST the sparrows - who have adopted the practice of filling their gob at the sunflower seed stations then moving over to the top of our mojone to crack the seeds and drop the hulls. There is, of course, a less easily swept away residue.

ARGGGGH!

I am hoping that the damage to our mojone is less a problem than the graffiti "artists" on the Camino would pose.

Very happy that Glen is doing well! I am very fond of osprey though they do put the fish down while I am casting a fly.
