Intentionally got up late knowing I only had a short 11 miles to do to Dampierre sur Salon and indulged in a good breakfast and lots of coffee ☕️.
I got on the road and went through a number of small villages and through some beautiful dark forested trails.
Passing a number of dated properties and gravesites I realized the area to be from the 1600's.
Once in Dampierre I am staying in a private residence where I met another of our forum members "David from freo" and his other half "Krishna".
We enjoyed a wonderful home-cooked meal together and lots of laughs to follow.
Being a forum member for so long, it was truly nice to meet someone else from the same niche community, from another corner of the world.

What a lovely experience for you all. I have been following Krishna, a fellow West Australian, on the Via Francigena. Enjoy the rest of your walk with the best yet to come!
