Time of past OR future Camino
Sept Oct - Camino Francis
On Sept7 - I will be walking my first Camino - from advice on the forum I booked my first few nights including at the main large Albergue in Roncesvalles - while it has shown up on my credit card - I have not received a confirmation? It’s been a few months - Wondering if this is the norm or ? All others did confirm bk to me? Curious others experiences. Don’t want to reach out if that’s their process….thx Jen

Hi,
I made a reservation for my son in July a week or so in advance I never received a confirmation, but I took a screen shot from the confirmation page. My son had no troubles.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Just to clarify: You got a confirmation from the payments webpage that you paid and you see that you paid when you look at your credit card statement. However, you did not get a separate confirmation by email from the bookings webpage, correct?

Although I am not sure I do think that this is indeed their normal process and, yes, it's not what one is used to for financial online transactions such as this one. We are used to seeing a confirmation of the payment (online confirmation) and a confirmation of the booking or purchase as such (by email from the actual provider or download).

You should receive an email confirmation. I received mine. Maybe check your spam folder.
It would be helpful if you could say where the email confirmation came from: from your credit card provider or from the Roncesvalles albergue themselves, for example from info@alberguederoncesvalles.com or perhaps booking@alberguederoncesvalles.com or noreply@alberguederoncesvalles.com or something similar. I think that this is the issue here. The booking data are managed by Roncesvalles themselves. The payment data are managed by the payment organisation and there may be differences in how they confirm the payment - it may depend on your bank or credit card issuer.

I received an email response immediately from Roncesvalles.

That is how the reservation system in Roncesvalles works. A reservation is only valid if the moneytransfer was successful.
@Jensjaunt: did you provide a correct e-mailaddress and was the moneytransfer successful?
If so: call the albergue between 10am and 10pm for a check. There is always an English-speaking person at the telephone.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
If the required amount of money was taken from your creditcard you certainly must have received a confirmation. Did you check your spammail?
You can send an e-mail (in English) to info@alberguederoncesvalles.com or call them (between 10am and 10pm European time, also in English) at +34 948 76 00 00
Many thanks - No nothing in spam - I have sent photos of my credit card statement and the screen shot to the info email and hope to hear back! If This does not work I will figure out the time change w 🇨🇦 and give a call! Can’t believe that in a month today I will begin my walk-very excited!

Thanks for your info - all I have is a screen shot that showed payment amount in Can dollars from the booking site as well as the charge on the credit card bill! I have sent an email and am sure it will get sorted! Just dotting my i and crossing my ts - as I will be starting off from SJPD in a month today! Excited!

Great to hear - I have a screen shot only of the payment page on their booking site - I took it as it showed the amount in Canadian dollars but no other info - so have reached out and am sure it will all get sorted! Excited to be starting walking in a month!
