The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
weather for March 3 is 60 and rain
Precise forecasts a week in advance are not too useful, but there will be rain, snow, and thawing for the entire week before you leave! The temperature at the summit will be several degrees lower than Roncesvalles, so there will be less thawing. Route markers in the off-road sections will be hidden by the snow pack, and turns in the trail are not obvious in all sections. The thawing will make the path a sea of mud! I am guessing that the Pilgrim Office will recommend the Valcarlos route. It has some sections where the waymarks turn you off the road. These can be difficult in good weather, so in snow and mud, they will be treacherous. You can walk the should of the road the entire distance, so you might want to consider doing that. Buen camino!
