HI All,
I'm arriving in Salamanca tomorrow night. I will start walking on sunday the 9'th I have until the 22nd of April to walk.
Should I start in Salamanca, Zamora or Granja de Moreruelo ?
I have 13 days walking, I don't have to walk into Santiago, I just want to do the best 13 days walking that i can, where should I start from ?

I think I'd be tempted to begin at Zamora. I found the last couple of days' walk into Santiago not so good. But that may have been because I was so focused on arriving - and there seemed to be people popping up who I'd never met before. So if you don't need to walk into Santiago, that would be most of the Sanabrés - and a bit of the VDLP. To be fair, it's all pretty good!

I've heard the Sanabres is the prettiest route in to Santiago but am not walking it until September. Good luck with your decision and let us know how it goes for you.

Buen Camino!

I would visit Salamanca but I would start walking from Zamora. The few days between the two is a bit dull.

Then again, Granja would be a good place to start from too.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I think I would start in Grandma, the route from Zamora to Grandma was, as I remember it, not very interesting. (The route out of Zamora was marked in a very confusing way, half of the walkers ended up on the Portuguese route and had to walk back to get to Montamarta

I LOVED the Sanabres but wherever you go, it will be amazing. All those places are fantastic

Your path will apear, just show up and follow the camino magic. Have fun!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Depending on your daily walking distance you could make it to Santiago from Zamora. Love the city, stayed in the Albergue I believe 4 times (3x the Sanabrés and once coming in from the Levante).
Whatever you do please take the short detour to see the ruins of the first Cisterian monetary in Spain. It is a gem and can be reached coming from Montamarta or Granja. There are arrows that will bring you back to the Camino.
