Via Francigena credenzial

We plan to walk the Francigena in autumn 2018, but will be in Rome in January. Is there anywhere we can obtain the credential in Rome? Thanks for your time and information!

According to the viefrancigene.org website it is possible to buy a credenziale in Rome Monday to Friday. The information may well be out of date so phoning in advance is a good idea: http://www.viefrancigene.org/en/credenziali/

I wonder if @ivar could arrange to sell the Via Francigena credentialed in the Casa Iva store??

There does seem to be a lot of interest.
I know I had a lot of confusion and difficulty in obtaining them last year.
I would sure have welcomed an easier source.

At http://www.viefrancigene.org/en/credenziali/ the credential costs E5.00. And they wanted E34 to post/courier to me.

This is the Confraternity of Pilgrims to Rome (CPR) and they appear to have a London address.

urcamino doesn't.

We got ours a few weeks ago from the London Confraternity. We also got patches.

still, it doesn't answer the question whether any credencial (including home-made) is valid.

The advice I've has second-hand is that the Pilgrim office doesn't really know how to treat those that arrive by foot. So I doubt there will be any known official view.

The overwhelming majority arrive in Rome by air/rail/car, so walking pilgrims are a bit of an oddity. We have to be odd to walk 2000 km, but there is a number above for you to call if you are unsure.
