Hi everyone. Can anyone who has walked the Lana tell me the places (as far as Cuenca where I can get public transport to return to Alicante. (Preferably trains)
Thank you.
Also is it possible to get a bus to the cemetery from the middle of Alicante?

Bus to the cemetery, regularly from the Alicante train station. As far up as Cuenca, there should be no problem, linking up transport back to Alicante. It’s less than two hundred miles. I enjoyed walking through the city, to the cemetery. I’d taken the bus a few days before to restock some kit, from decathlon. Cheers. Wild

Thank you. Thats really helpful. We want to fly back from Madrid

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I'am not perfect, but I'm always myself!!!
Brilliant. Thank you. One other thing that worries me is personal safety. I am a 62 year old woman alone until my husband comes a week later. Will that be OK?
Of course it will be OK. You'll be still 62 when he'll join you ;)

Seriously, I don't remember single post about safety issues on the Lana in years.

When do you start walking? I shall be setting out from Alicante on 7 April, and will be blogging each day. If you leave after me, and want to read about my walk take a look here. I expect that you will feel perfectly safe, but obviously no-one can predict what circumstances you will encounter, or how you will react. I have rarely felt threatened on any of my six caminos, but there has been the odd occasion when I was unsettled. Trust your instincts and don't hesitate to take avoiding action if you feel threatened.
Buen camino!

Have you been on any of the lonely caminos before? When we were walking the VdlP we saw few other pilgrims
Oh yes, sorry, I wasn’t paying full attention! Yes, I have walked many lonely caminos, detailed in my signature section below. I have heard of women being harassed, and on one occasion had good cause to feel anxious myself. But rather than listen to my instincts, I carried on walking. I should have stopped and waited for some company before walking on, or found some other way to avoid a worrying situation. But I’ve walked over 5,000 km on camino and only felt threatened this one time.
