Wow...wish I could see this exhibition. If anyone manages to go, could you post a few pictures so we can see what it was like?
Thanks 👣 🌏

Hi Kaz,

I'm researching my next holiday/trek/hike/pilgrimage and I see you have done the 88 Temple Walk in Japan which is on my radar. I've done the Kumano Kodo in 2012 and the CF on a bike in 2017, can you let me know what you thought of the 88 Temples? Maybe direct message me if you like? How long did it take, etc ? Logistics? I'm an Aussie in Sydney.

Thanks
M

Darn. Only til April.
This is definitely on my list, so I echo @kazrobbo 's request. Pretty please.

Great to hear about this exhibition! As luck would have it, I’m heading off to walk part of the Frances starting tomorrow and I’ll be in Santiago at the end of the month. So excited to be able to be out walking again! I’m looking forward to seeing the exhibition — I walked the Kumano Kodo in 2017 and loved it so I’ll definitely post some photos of the exhibition on the forum.

Hi Mark,
I'd be delighted to answer any queries about the Way of 88 Temples..I absolutely loved it, its my favourite of all the walks I've done.

Right at this moment (8.45pm Tues, Melb) I'm waiting to board my flight to London from where I'll be walking the Pilgrims Way to Canterbury & then the full Via Francigena to Rome...therefore my ability to assist might be a bit patchy for awhile.. 😄

To get you started on info, I made a number of postings under @BobM 's thread 'Camino Book: The Way of 88 Temples - Journeys on the Shikoku Pilgrimage'.
I also sent group emails from the trail describing my experiences throughout. I have forwarded these dispatches to other interested Forum members. I'd be happy to send them to you too if you PM me your email address. There's about 8 in all & they include photos. Obviously I'm going to have a bit on my plate!..but if you do PM me, I'll get them to you as soon as I can.
Happy planning &... Gambatte!

I am jealous! But only a little as I will be heading the other direction in May: three weeks in Japan to include the Kohechi Kumano Kodo and probably a short return to Shikoku, then six weeks in Australia where I hope to have a few days bushwalking in the NT.

I walked the Shikoku 88 temple circuit last February and March. After that I walked the Nakahechi Kumano Kodo. I plan to return to Japan for some more Kumano Kodo walking in May. If anyone wants to ask me about either Shikoku or the Nakahechi feel free to send me a personal message and I'll try to answer any questions or point you towards sources I found useful.

Ganbatte!

The exhibition is well worth seeing if you are lucky enough to be in Santiago before the end of April. There are about 40 large photographs with accompanying Spanish and English explanations by Luis Gago and Aoife Nin Dhubhda. Here are a couple of photos to give you an idea.
