Hi,

Starting tomorrow.

So where is the “official” start from Seville?

I know the most important thing is to just start, but whats the done thing?

The Cathedral? Triana? Stone plinth?

Oh, & where would you go to get your first stamp? I don’t think we’ll make the cathedral office.

Should have done a bit more homework.......

Too many and too often!
Most people seem to start from the cathedral. And you can get your first stamp almost anywhere - I would ask wherever you are staying in Seville or in any bar or restaurant. Most Spanish businesses have a sello.

The cathedral sounds appropriate and I am sure the ticket office has a stamp.

Thank you Bradypus & Jeffrey,

I suppose I was just looking for a bit of reassurance as I start. I was in the cathedral last night & the office was not open & I’ll have left today by the time it opens.

This close & still jittery!

I have gotten a stamp from the Hostel & I’m going to check to see if the pilgrim office in Triana is open on the way.

But to hear back from another forum member was reassurance enough.

Buen Camino my friends, thinking of you as I leave Seville.

I started in Seville at the cathedral. The cathedral was closed but I went around to the group entrance and asked the guard if I could get a stamp. She let me in and directed me to another guard who stamped my credencial. As my mother said, it always pays to look like you need help and be polite when you get it.

The Cathedral. You can get a stamp there. I asked after the early morning Mass and they stamped my passport in the sacristy.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Thank you John/Harrington,

The female guard in the cathedral looked after us so this was our
“official” start.

We’re well on our way now - forgot to mention we’re hiking & biking the “Way” a la bike bell of course.

All good,
Thanks - M.

The cathedral is the official starting point. I plan to attend the early morning mass on May 29th and start thereafter. According to the local pilgrim society the morning mass at 8.30 adresses to pilgrims and they offer a pilgrims benediction. I think, this is a good way to start this camino.
