Frances, Aragones, Vasco del Interior, Baztanes. (Frances Winter, La Plata, Camino de Invierno, Mozarabe, Norte, Primitivo.)
Next spring we´ll start to work in this wonderfull projet. A new albergue with the same spirit of Grañon, Arres, Tosantos and many other donativo places. We have the enthusiam, the place, the authorizations and some volunteers. Now we only need three more things. Money, money and money.;)

We can all help, working in the site ( like a carpenter, plumber, handwork, cooker etc) and/or donating.
(This is the way Grañon, Arres, Viana and many other donativo albergues were "built")

If you want to contact the responsible persons for volunterring in the restoration work, please mail to
jorgealberguealdunate@gmail.com or jsernanton@gmail.com

To donate, this is the bank account number :
IBAN = ES 94 3008 0042 55 0709068613
BIC ( International Bank operations) BCOEESMM008
The Bank is : CAJA RURAL DE NAVARRA.
Please when doing the wire transfer, specify " Donacion Albergue Aldunate" .

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Looks like a very worthy project - where is it, exactly? Lumbier, Aldunate, or somewhere in-between?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Great location, especially since Isco was closed when I walked in 2018 and 2019

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

For those of us who have walked and loved the Aragones, I would gladly make a generous donation. Is this something that Rebekah could be involved with Peaceable Projects? It would be easier to make a donation via PayPal and apply the wire transfer fees to increasing the donation.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Just putting in my two cents. I know Jorge, who is involved heavily in this project, since 20+ years. So yes, he, and the project are genuine! Volunteer, donate, help whichever way you can - it will benefit pilgrims!

This is great news — the Aragonés is a real camino gem.

I think a lot of people would like to donate, but for those of us from the US, wire transfers are expensive. AT least that has always been my experience — to transfer 30 euros once, I was quoted a transfer fee of $40 US. I am not sure why that is, because I know it is one of the preferred ways of sending money in Spain. I have often had this issue when trying to put down rental deposits in Spain, and the owners assume that I can easily just wire the money.

Do any tech savvy people out there have any ideas? Fingers crossed!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hello, I have walked the Camino Aragones twice 2012 and 2019. It is marvelous and very quiet. It is so strange when it meets up with Frances and all of a sudden there are tons of people out of the blue! Good luck with your project.

I might add that if you passed through Sarrance (on Chemin de Arles between Oloron Sainte Marie and the Pyrenees) and stayed at the monastère with Frère Pierre, they are desperately looking for funds to fix the roof ...

You will find the article here in this newsletter ... hope you can read french!

@peregrina2000 ... Might be a crazy solution and won't help everyone but can you get a Revolut Bank card? Revokut allows you to pay in any currency at bank rate exchange rate and no charges... Its a great way to access and pay money when travelling but not sure it it is available in the US? I also use a transferwise account... Its a muliticurrency bank account... Again not sure that is going to help but its useful if you travel or have clients paying in different currencies?

Revolut is great for travelling

Sorry... Not sure this helps 😊🤞

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
How do we support? Is there some way?

From the Hospitaleros Voluntarios bulletin I just received some days ago:

To support this project you can donate to

Account ES94 3008 0042 55 0709068613
Bank CAJA RURAL DE NAVARRA
BIC BCOEESMM008
Name Parroquia de Lumbier
In the comment put: OBRAS ALBERGUE DE ALDUNATE

Hope that helps, BC SY

I will be a volunteer at the monastery the last two weeks of April 2020. I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve. I stayed at the monastery in the fall of 2018 during my Chemin d'Arles/Camino Aragones pilgrimage. It is an absolutely magical place!

Well friends, thats were the news one and a half years ago. A bunch of dreamers were dreaming about to open a new albergue in the Camino Aragones, in a place with no facilities for pilgrims.
Then the Covid hit us like a deadly Tsunami.
But now we are returned. The first week of July a group of volunteers will start the cleanship of the church, moving away rubble, making ready the old building for renovation and transformation in that dreamed albergue.
This post is for refreshing my original post.
We keep needing the same we needed before : Your help.
How to do it?
If you read the previous post in this thread many of your questions will be answered. If not, feel free to contact me in this forum or privately, your choice.
Your house in Aldunate is borning.
