My thoughts exactly, gray land! I couldn't even begin to imagine how we could have managed to fully commit to doing the Camino without all the help and information provided in this forum. It just makes this huge leap of faith so much easier to do!
By the way, I get it now!! I had the...
Thanks everyone for all the input!
John:
I will make sure to print this out and clip it in your guidebook so nobody panics  . There are 6 of us traveling (with 6 pieces of luggage to be deposited), so we can split into teams.
Good to know about "siesta time" in Ferrol. That first day...
Hello again,
I am also looking at the bus services sites, as we are trying to map out our routes. We are arriving at 7:30am in Santiago on Ryan Air. We will have luggage with us (for our post-camino travel) which we intend to leave at the Pilgrim's Office in downtown Santiago.
So far, this is...
Dear Judy,
As we will be there next month, we would appreciate getting info from you how your arrival In Ferrol and search for the tourist office went.
Buen Camino!
Maria
That's a relief! as I'm not such an early riser ;-). Besides, we walk in mid-October and read somewhere that sunrise in those parts wouldn't be until sometime past 8:00 am.
Thanks for the info, John and Harry!
Hola Johnnie,
Approximately how long will this walk in the revised route take? We'd like to be able to make it to the Pilgrims' Mass at noon at the Cathedral, especially since we plan on arriving at SCQ on Sunday, Oct 21. Can we make it if we start off at about 7.00am? - Maria
We are a group of 7 and we will be doing the Camino Ingles in mid-October. After arriving in Santiago and spending a night in town, we just want to spend an extra day of sightseeing in Finesterre and Muxia. What bus can we take and where can we find the schedules online?
Hello Tyrrek,
There's always more room for more advice, especially from the "veterans"! :D
And every little bit of information here has been very helpful.
Buen Camino!
Tia, we are open to using a combination of hostels and albergues, wherever the road and the day leads us. Like many first-timers, this is mostly just a leap of faith... We have no real clear view of our own physical capacities yet, but we are training up for it. One of us is a diabetic...
wow, that map sure helps give us a clearer view. The pension is a bit of a detour to make twice, isn't it? But we got no cause for worry now, because of Andy's wonderful news! The albergue could just be the place for us on the 2nd leg of the Betanzos-Bruma route.
Unless: Mig, am I right in...
Hi John,
Wow, This is new to me! Can we get our pilgrim passports from Barcelona already? Our first stop in Spain is Barcelona, then we will fly to Santiago the following day either thru Ryanair or Vueling. I've always thought we can get it only from where we start walking.
Buen Camino!
Bebol
Thanks for the warm welcome, Mig and Tia. From Johnnie's guide, the Betanzos to Bruma route seemed too daunting for us and so we are breaking it into 2 days, opting to do the stop at Bar Julia, where we will arrange to use Antonio's service and stay at the highly recommended Pension O Meson...
We are a group of 4 girl friends travelling from the Philippines, all first time peregrinos. Inspired by Johnnie Walker's new and highly informative guide, we have decided to do the Camino Ingles in mid-October, most likely leaving the Philippines Oct 13, arriving in Barcelona Oct 14, Santiago...
