Sweet. Although nothing beats the beach landing when crossing from Portugal to Spain on the Camino Portugues. Our boat didn't even get up onto the beach. Luckily I was wearing sandals.
Walking is a wonderful option. There's a local bus from the Airport to Bidart (about a 10 minute bus ride) to Bidart so you can start right on the coast. A great way to work out the kinks from the flight(s)

If you have a couple of extra days, it’s worth it walking from the airport. Pretty flat and easy, lots of ocean views, and St Jean de Luz is a lovely city
