    You have had a few answers to most of your questions so I will only comment on your Camera selection. If you are not atleast an advanced amateur don't bother with the DSLR. Its takes time to develop skills and I'm guessing you will resort to the auto settings rather than the manual settings...

    Wish i had taken: lightweight walking shoes rather than full leather tramping boots (bought some in logrono) Wish i hadn't taken: tent (i was travelling europe after camino so needed it- ended up posting to santiago from logrono)

    Water bottle or hydration pouch ('camel back')?

    Personally i preferred just a cheap plastic bottle bought on route, not really any need for a steel type bottle and it just adds weight. I would imagine having a bladder would be a bit annoying having to get out and refill often and i've heard they can start to smell??

On my first camino I failed on both these points, packing way to much and walking close on 40km the second day, it pretty much crippled...

    hey again, leatherman is just a multipurpose tool, like a swiss army kinife, you can live without it but i use it everyday for random tasks, sorry underwear, yeah like xm says 2 pairs or 3 if you like to clean every 2nd night instead of every nite..
