    Lol.... Only in name! I love my gators.... Good in rain/ long grass.. Keep stones out your boots. As for ponchos.... Look for a cycling poncho... Cycling is big in London and there are so many to choose from. They tend to be more fitted and shorter.

    My son used Solomon 3d... Not a blister until 2 days out from Santiago ... He loved them. No need for forex for 5 months of the year. I have used north face trail runners , new balance and karrimor( a British budget brand)... New balance were so light I felt like I was flying..

    At SJPdP they will give you a few sheets of paper with basic info and you get a credential. May I very humbly suggest you take this and a large dose of trust and faith. Follow the arrows and be free of guidebooks. Read this and other forums make the odd note in a journal and keep a diary.then...

    Camino with toddlers

    saw lots of todlers last summer....most were in trailers behind bikes. the idea is the same....but it may be worth looking into.Are the children 1 and 3 now...(2 and 4 by the time they go on camino) ?.Some walking trails are very uneven...the bike routes are often more suitable,any way...good luck

    Alternatives to Cizur Menor

    cizur is wonderfull try to get into the albergue run by the "mamma camino".she is famous ,she dressed my blisters and relaced my boots....3 minutes walk from state of the art swimming pool complex with great food..swim...sun tan and look up at padron in front of you!

    the gaps between trains are long,if you are flying into biaritz grab a snack at your departure airport,if flying from the uk there will be pret a manger and many others there.If you can get the 3pm train it gets you to st jean in time to get to where you are staying and have supper.....the later...

    astorga then bus is a good option if they have already seen the cruz de ferroz.That walk down into Molinesca was hard...but the hotel by the river was a night of luxury i will never forget.I still get tingles when i think about the 10 of us chatting with our feet dangling in the tiny stream...
