    Backpack Capacity (DaveBugg Bait!)

Yes. Lots of interest these days in being able to say you have the smallest pack then hanging things on the outside because they do not fit in said pack! I believe Gossamer Gear fills packs with styrofoam beads to measure capacity.

    HELP! (Shoe advice) April 2020

The "Zero drop" with Altras takes getting used to if you're used to walking in a shoe with a rise of say 8 to 11 mm. I also find them too spongy and prefer a shoe that doesn't make me fell that all my energy is sinking into a mushy sole. And I could predict that the tread would be worn out for...

Best up to date guide book for Via de la Plata?

Best up to date guide book for Via de la Plata?

Thanks Kazrobbo. Interesting you just mentioned the Cicerone guide as I have one for Camino Norte and am disappointed by lack of info beyond route and accommodation. Maybe a one off, but..... VDLP plans would be for fall this year so will look into the Gerald Kelly 2020 version.

Best up to date guide book for Via de la Plata?

Hello pilgrims. Many guidebooks listed seem older. Any recommendations for an up to date guide for the VDLP. Prefer a concise combination of info, history, routing and accommodation.

I Need starting advice from Porto

I think this is a great idea! The central and and littoral route are quite different and though I have not walked from Lisbon, I think I'd prefer to do what you are suggesting.

If You have Walked the Camino - Do you prefer boots or trail runners?

Yes, Annie. Perhaps expand on the term Boots. There's a huge variety of boots i.e. high top leather boots versus mid height light hikers.

Anybody else doing the Da Costa beginning of december?

Dolf. I delayed plans for walking mid October as the weather looked iffy and things got busy at home. Also looking at late November/early December specifically because the long range forecast, for what it is worth, looks favourable!

    Coastal Weather April

Sounds like you would be very hot wearing heavier layer like that. Records suggest Porto has highs of low 20's and lows of 9 (celsius) in April.
