Seeking a pilgrim I lost touch with...

I hiked the Camino from April 28-May 29. I became friends with a wonderful man named Xaver from Germany. He was retired and used to work as an accountant. He gave me his email and we even confirmed it with each other but it keeps bouncing back. Has someone else on this forum come accross...

    First Camino Panic attack

I absolutely love how you described it as jousting at the windmills in the mind. What a beautiful and eloquent way to describe the element of worrying. This is what I am hoping to accomplish on my camino. To simply go and be, instead of jousting with my mind. A sense of peace is all I pray for.

Is it necessary to get a VISA to travel to Spain from Canada?

My uncle is telling me today that I need to apply for a VISa to travel in Spain for the 2 months I will be gone. Can anyone verify if this is correct information? I haven't come accross anything telling me that I need to get a VISA. Any information is helpful. Thank you. Antonio.

    Is a lock necessary?

Would you say that it is necessary to bring a combination lock in order to lock stuff up in lockers? Is it a wotrthless item to bring? Not sure if there are lockers at the albergues or if there are enough albergues with lockers to warrant bringing a lock. Any feedback on this? Thanks.

Sites not to miss on the Camino Frances

Margaret! Thank you for letting me know about this wonderful book. I spent yesterday evening at the library looking through this book. There was simply too much information to take in so I tried to focus on the tidbits that I found most interesting. I feel I will have a greater understanding of...

Hello everyone, My backpack is ready to go. 16.5 pounds which I am happy to say. Flights are booked. The first few days and last night accomodations are booked. Just waiting out the next couple of weeks until I start my trek. I am spending my time now looking up places to see along the...

“All” Albergues on the Camino Frances in one pdf

From what I have read on this forum, every albergue has wifi access. But this doesnt seem to be reflected in this pdf. When we see an albergue that has internet access on this pdf does this imply having only physical computers to use? Are we to assume that every albergue has free wifi we can use...

I am planning on growing my first full long beard during my Camino. I have had a short and well cropped beard for years and years now but keep it well trimmed once it gets a bit long. I start my first camino on April 27th, 2014. Can I ask what these credentials are that you are picking up on April 5th? As far as I am aware of all I need to bring with me in my travel passport. All other documents are acquired at Saint Jean at the pilgrim office such as the pilgrim passport. Am...

    Decorating my Pack!

I'm assuming that patches are sold along the Camino itself? I am thinking of bringing fabric glue with me and buy patches along the camino to stick on my pack as I complete my camino. Good idea? Or better to save the weight of the fabric glue?
