I am booked and will arrive in Porto on September 4. I had planned to walk, alone, to Santiago in eleven days as recommended on many of the posts.
Unfortunately my leg and back are causing me major problems and my physiotherapist feels that I should only attempt 10 km daily. But my timetable...
I have just booked my flight to Porto and will arrive on September 4 and leave on September 22. This allows me time for my walk to Santiago de Compestela, some time in Muxia, and time to explore Porto.
Last year my daughter and I walked from Sarria but I am solo this year and am wondering if...
Thank you for this. I am planning this walk in September 2015. How far did you take the metro, what was your stop to start your first day walking out of Porto? I would like to plan the same for the same reason.
Buen Camino!
Thanks for the ideas. I want to use Skype because:
1. too expensive and a ripoff
2. I am only in Spain for ten days so buying a card and data seems expensive if I can use Skype
Thanks again.
Buen Camino.
I also want to use the Skype on the Camino. Being in Canada I have the plan that allows me to call all North American phone numbers from Canada and the US.
What plan do I need to be able to phone Canadian phone numbers from Spain?
Buen Camino!
I love my Merrell hiking shoes; they are eighteen months old. Last weekend I tried to buy the same model in a larger size for long walks. Not possible. :-(
It's back to the drawing board for me.
Thanks for the link to hipmunk. I had not heard of the site previously. My daughter and I will be flying from Toronto to Santiago in mid-September for the walk from Sarria as that is all the time that she can get off work. This site will help us decide our flights.
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope that you walk part of the Camino as you intended and it brings you a wealth of experience as your brother had before his unfortunate death.
Buen camino!
Thank you for your replies. I'm starting to wonder if we should fly into Santiago instead even if we do have at least one stop. We are flying from Toronto.
My daughter and I expect to fly to Lisbon in mid-September because it is a direct flight. We are starting our walk in Sarria because my daughter only has one week from work.
Is there a bus or train from Lisbon to Sarria. The flight costs are prohibitive.
Any details much appreciated.
Buen...
