If you are looking for early part of the year, I think end April is the perfect time as walking through Spain 🇪🇸 in May is awesome, June starts to get hot and of course July and august is Soo hot. My favourite time is September to November though.
My girlfriend and I walked to Ponferrada and ended. There were so many pilgrims. The municipal albergue was pretty much full and going forward there are less spot for several paths coming together. We had to walk four full days 30+ km to get a bed. That’s four occasions. I can do this but...
We start at SJPDP in May 1 or 2. I’ve been to SJPDP but I really haven’t seen it, just showed up, slept and walked. Is it worth walking to Orisson for the night? Can you tell me the cost for the night and if it’s full, are we out of luck? Please advise if you know.

I’ve seen it done. I’m a heavy set guy and I did St Jean to Santiago in 31 days and could have done better. Injuries and illnesses could hamper you but if you’re fit, organized and goal oriented, it’s definitely doable.
