    Is there an App?

I've only just started using Strava - the free version. I can't seem to find how to set it so that it pauses when I do..... do I need to subscribe to premium to get that feature?

Which are the recommended,"not to miss" albergues?

Thanks Trecile, I did eventually find my way around and then it took another little while before I found the 'down load' button! Its just what I was looking for!

Thank you for your response.... I did find it eventually! :)

Which are the recommended,"not to miss" albergues?

I know this is a very old thread, just wondering if this list of favourite Albergues along Camino Frances is still available - an updated one that is. :) I am totally useless at searching for things or just generally navigating my way around the forum pages. I have dozens of 'notes' jotted down...

    My Camino Francés

Brilliant job and I loved the soundtrack! Well done.

    Not getting it

Please persevere for at least another week, then make a decision. In 2016 I experienced the same sort of thoughts and feelings and returned home after only walking 6 days! I felt I was ok with my decision until I'd been home for a couple of weeks and then it really hit me. I still to this day...

How long and steep are the downhills going from St Jean to Roncesvalles?

I took the road and my knees survived, I didn't see another soul the entire decent.

The wait is over, but unfortunately the weight is over.

Buen Camino! And yes, same here, thanks for the humour! Made me laugh!

    Roncesvalles worrying

Hi Catherine, I'm also setting off on Sept. 19 and staying at Orisson that night. See you there! :)

    Roncesvalles worrying

Thanks so much for sharing the account of your first 2 days Gerard - brilliant writing! I head off in about 20 days, not nearly as trained up as I'd hoped and day 2 scaring the me silly! But after reading your story, I'm feeling much more at ease about it. Thanks again!

Pilgrims Guide Book versus GPS Apps

Thanks Thomas, I use Runkeeper all the time and have been trying out maps.me - I'll probably go with those two.

Pilgrims Guide Book versus GPS Apps

Hi Julian, I'm in the same quandary. I start from St Jean September 19 - you'll probably pass me. Just wondering what GPS apps you have tried? I want a GPS app that doesn't require data - one that I can see MY position on the map and one that will record my track, save it and be able to share...

    Valcarlos mid Sept

Hi Annie, I'm leaving St Jean on the 19th September - via the Napoleon route and am booked in at Orrison. I'm not nearly trained up as much as I'd hoped, but have my heart set on the 'high road'. Will be taking it very easy (slow). I'll turn 60 a few days after returning home. Probably see you...

    Leaving SJPdP September 21,2016

You're two days behind me. I leave SJPdP on September 19 - am booked in at Orrison :)

Toilet tissue on or by the trail

Agree Kanga! I'm a handkerchief user from way back - rarely use tissues. :)
