I flew Canada to Paris to Biarritz, spent the night near the airport and took a train to SJPdP first thing the next morning. Stopped at the pilgrims office and headed straight for Valcarlos. Didn't take time adjust to the travel or anything, just got going.
I did that in 43 and actually ran into the same group multiple times...I didn't take rest days (but did a few very short ones) while they did, and we hit santiago the same day
I am obese, and without training (obv not recommended), I did it in 35 days Sept/Oct 2020. I took 0 days off, but had 4 or 5 days of 6-15 kms. I did send my bag ahead a fair bit, but my goal was to walk and complete, and I did just that.
I wrote myself several potential future camino plans, and a 15 day one for me was the Primitivo from Oviedo to Santiago. It really could be done a tad shorter by most people too, but theres an option to look at....of all the ones I've "prepared" its the only one close to your interest. My...
Also if you are able, could continue walking to Fistera and Muxia. I took 39 days for Frances and 6 more for those. Worst case if you walk and finish earlier than planned and see some other small areas on your way back to Paris
Left early a lot of days in the dark when I was there. The thing was I didn't keep my head lamp on I have a really good eyesight so if the terrain was pretty good I had it off until I needed it and just used the moonlight. I never did feel like I had an issue though
My walk took me 45 days with no days off, but a few 10km days. I walked SJPDP to Santiago in 39, then took another 6 for Santiago to Fistera to Muxia. Then I bussed back to Santiago for my flight.

Are there any Canadians in or near Sarria tomorrow? I've been on the camino for over a month and very low on cash. My cards have not been letting me do a cash advance (which I could pay off right away).....
I'm looking for canadians because I could do an etransfer to you on the spot. I have...
I am 37, but obese and though I trained a bit before I was going to come in march, I ended up w0rkong a sitting job this summer only doing a out 5000 steps a day (so like 2 miles) before coming and starting a few days ago. 8 miles is more than many do before coming, but you still have to...
I plan to start later this month as well. And just recently booked my flight. As long as you're smart, respectful of regulations, etc, if you are comfortable go for it.
Ouch you're killing me....im trying to semi-annual to come in a few weeks, and no there's no way I can walk from leon all the way to hospital..
Guess I'll have to walk and then talk a ride back to leon for the night and continue on the next morning. In reality though you're giving great info for...
