Would it be overkill to bring both a rain jacket and the Altus poncho in Oct/Nov?

For Oct/Nov I would take the rain coat and rain pants. I did in 2015 and I was always dry and comfortable. It would rain days all day long. I also took waterproof socks and non goretex shoes which were always dry the next day (newspaper inside shoes and placed next to heating)

Backpack is 2 kg too heavy TwT

That is a rough guide line but in my opinion doesn’t work for us 50kg people.. my pack will be around 8-9 kg with water and a snack. It depends on you. This might be too heavy for some, I am fine carrying this. Just the first few days are hard on the shoulders and hips.

Small juicer, vegetarians and heating element?

Spain has lot of veggies available usually, but on the camino I also find it hard to eat enough veggies. I can only eat so many iceberg tuna salads before they drive me nuts. They do often offer vegetable side dishes, usually very basic. Spanish also eat lots of legumes. I myself take AG1 to...

Need help deciding to bring or not to bring

I wouldn’t take your Kindle. I took mine on my first camino better never read. I was either doing my “camino chores”, socializing, eating. And if I really wanted to enjoy a story I would listen to an audiobook, which I would fall asleep to. For this ofcourse you need earphones. Earphones are...

Wanted to give a little update on how my parches fared after 400km. The E6000 glue works great! Not a single patch has loosened

October CF bottoms for women - suggestions appreciated!

Fjalraven make excellent hiking tights/leggings with reinforced bottoms and knees. They make thicker ones for the cooler months. Back in 2015 I walked the CF mid Sept till beginning of Nov. I had a simpel legging and a lightweight zipoff pants. Easy to layer for those extra cold days. I also...

Best Ultra Lightweight Sleeping Bags for the Pilgrimage in March-April

I havent had to treat my Sea to Summit TR1 for bedbugs yet, but if I have to I would do it with steam. Could try to ask a drycleaner (tintoreria), or a car cleaner might also have a steamer

I’ve had mine for a year and never fell out. I got the leather version, maybe its different? Love my my airtag! Has saved me a couple times when my keys mysteriously vanished…. (My little gremlins love to hide my things lol)

Did I just think of a brilliant way to never lose my walking poles again?

As I was printing out two stickers with my name and phone number to stick onto my poles I see my keys lying next to them.. with an Airtag. 💡! I’m sure I am not the only one who constantly forgets her poles… right? LOL Never again! Well atleast I’ll get a reminder from my phone 100 meters away...

Best Ultra Lightweight Sleeping Bags for the Pilgrimage in March-April

I love my Sea to Summit TR1. Its a lightweight down sleeping bag that you can unzip completely to create a normal duvet/blanket/quilt. I combine this with a silk liner.

How to pack Tilley hat (ltm6) into backpack?

The early morning sun (sunrise to about 9-10am) is actually very good for you skin. It is low in uva and uvb and is high in infrared and ultraviolet light which are healing and can help protect your skin from the stronger sun later in the day. I usually enjoy some early morning sun and then...
