Our suitcase has arrived in St Jean with our hostess today!! Very quickly on the 3rd working day after we posted it! Most impressed with La Poste in France.
Thanks Pelerina, yes, it certainly was a good outcome. Sorry we can’t catch up at the start of May but your many posts on the Forum have been very helpful to us in our planning for this walk. Just completed Day 2 and are relaxing in Monistrol d’Allier! Tomorrow will be another challenging day...
We commenced walking the Via Podiensis on Saturday 13th April 2024. We are from Australia and find it easier to bring our stuff for the Camino in a suitcase, as we have extra clothes for before and after our Camino.
We hoped to be able to send our suitcase from Le Puy to St Jean, using La...
42 Days until we fly from Melbourne to London and 48 days until we start walking from Le Puy en Velay to Santiago. Really looking forward to walking the Via Podiensis for the first time and the Camino Frances for the third time. A bit apprehensive about the first few weeks from Le Puy but sure...
Thank you again. We will email La Malle Postale in a couple of weeks, after we are home from visiting family. Will definitely let you know how we get on.
We still haven’t finalised what we are going to do next year. Once we have booked our flights in a couple of months possibly, we will then start booking accommodation and ask our accommodation in St Jean if they will receive it. We have already asked our preferred accommodation in St Jean but...
We have heard back from Express Bourricot and unfortunately they don’t store luggage, they don’t have enough room.
We will now investigate further, possibly asking the Gite we would like to stay at if they might store our suitcase.
Thank you very much Pelerina for your quick response to our question.
We were actually thinking of using La Poste to send it to Express Bourricot in St Jean and asking them to keep it for us until we arrive. We are contacting Express Bourricot ourselves to ask this. We have used the services of...
We are planning to walk the Via Podiensis beginning in April, 2024. We are wondering if anyone has sent a suitcase directly from Le Puy to St Jean to await our eventual arrival there?
We have previously used the Express Bourricot service from St Jean to Santiago. Is there an equivalent option...
Hi Aurigny,
Thank you very much indeed for this thread. We are both really enjoying it. Pat and I have been planning to walk the Podiensis, in fact before COVID came along we had planned to walk it this year from Le Puy to Santiago. We are now hoping we will be able to do it next year, if we...
Thanks very much Carol for the heads up about walking the Le Puy Route in June/July. We are intending to walk the Via Podiensis in 2021. How did you find the daytime temperatures?
Thanks Julesy for posting this thread and asking your questions, which have elicited very helpful advice for anyone...
