    Astorga to Santiago in 10 days?

    I was hoping to walk that stretch in the fall as well. I may volunteer in an albergue for a couple of weeks before walking. I think I planned about 11 or 12 days, between 20 and 25 km per day. Is the weather as unpredictable towards the end of September as it is in the spring? Donna

    Places we would not recommend

    I stayed in both those places in June of 2013. I didn't experience any bedbug issues but I did have a treated sheet and pillowcase with me. I had my own single bed by the window in San Javier so was quite happy with it. Donna in Vancouver

    The best meal we had at an albergue was in San Mamud del Camino, just before Sarria. I think the albergue is called Paloma y Lena. They served a vegetarian meal of salad and quiches.
