I was a little worried about walking on my own but the night beforeI left, just as I was dropping off to sleep, I was startled to see my sister (who has passed away) walk past me. She was wearing glasses, which I haven't seen her do for years, watching the trail, and was wearing a little blue...
Yay! Tomorrow I'm off! Though I'm not too thrilled at having to get up at 4.30am (and neither is the son who is driving me to the airport) . I have an overnight stopover in Seoul, then a couple of nights in Pamplona to get over the jetlag, then I'll look forward to seeing some of you on...
Hi Fred. Would you mind moving me to departing Pamplona a day earlier on 31 August please? Wow, leaving NZ on 26 August, arriving Spain 28 August, it's getting very close!
And I'm another one who will be travelling solo, leaving Pamplona around 31 August or 1 September. It sounds as though there will be quite a few of us travelling solo through August/September.
Your information about taping your feet is very interesting, as that is just what I've decided to do. I tried Vaseline on my practice walks, but didn't like it. I experienced some sore spots while trying out various footwear combinations, and have found that taping my feet works best for me...
At 69 I'll top most of you sweet young things. ;) I'm starting from Pamplona around the 1st of September, so will look out for your familiar faces - I'm sure most of you will be passing me!
Hi Joe. I'm planning to leave from Pamplona about 31 August/1 September (depending on how long it takes to get over the jetlag). Like Trish, I'll meander along at about 10km - 15km per day. Currently I'm walking 5 - 6km per day, but it was about 8.5km today and I've also managed a couple of...
Nice one Amanda.
I'll be leaving Pamplona a few days ahead of you, but I'm planning on just pottering along at my own speed, so you'll no doubt catch up. Just wave as you fly past!
Hi All. I'm starting my first (and probably only Camino) from Pamplona on 1 September. Planning has become an obsession, I think my friends are starting to avoid me! :( Thank heavens for this forum!
Thanks Taozenqi and Trish, I shall watch out for you both. I suspect I won't be hard to spot.... I'll be the one head down, bottom up, puffing like a train even on the flat bits!
