Air Transat from Montreal to Bordeaux and then train (Bus at Airport takes you to train station) to St-Jean-Pied de Port. Flights usually start early May.
I flew from Montreal to Bordeaux with Air Transat than took the train to Hendaye. Flight is also available from Toronto. City Bus in Bordeaux from the Airport to train station on a regular basis.
- First time I did Montreal/Paris/Biarritz and then Express Bourricot to Saint Jean Pied de Port.
- Last two times I did Montreal/Bordeaux with Air Transat and then train to SJPP, quicker and a Lot less stressful.
I also tried a few times and I got the same responses as you did. I finally gave up on it. I hired Express Bourricot to pick us up at the Biarritz Airport, but we come in on 3.05 PM flight on the 19th of April 2014.

- "but airport transfers...
We will be flying from Montréal, I checked the Pamplona flights and no direct ones and after finding transport to St-Jean it is longer and more complicated. Flight to Bayonne/Biaritz is ridiculously expensive so that is out of the loop. The Paris route has a direct flight and using the TGV...
Looks like we will be flying in to Paris and travelling by TGV train to St-Jean and starting our Camino on the 20th of April 2014. Once we reach St-Jacques should we go back up to Paris to take a flight back to Canada or go to Madrid or any other alternatives to get back home. Which is the...
