We are in Pobeña tonight and really struggling to get accomodation for tomorrow night. We are pretty desperate. Any tips from anyone? We will do a longer or shorter stage.
Feels like I will be the only peregrino starting in Irun on April 1st. And it's not even an April fools joke... 😉
Well... I'm ready for the rain and the solitude and the coastal alternatives.
Buen Camino to everyone also planning their first steps.
I've found this amazing document that I think is owned by the same Dave?

I just had to smile a little at my very hopeful comment on 06/01/2020. I am so thankful that we can now stand on the other side of this amazingly weird period. And I will be trying again on the 1st of April this year. Does anyone know if this list has been kept up to date somewhere?
Hi Billy - I bought tickets for April next year. I really hope that there will be affordable accommodation options for this pilgrim paying in South African Rands ;)
Hoping to start in Irun. But I'm reading that there are very little Albergues open on Del Norte at the moment. My budget doesn't allow for more expensive accommodation so I will have to keep an eye on everyone's experience over the summer before I decide.
Hi all! I'm a peregrino from South Africa and completed the Frances in April/May 2017.
I am hoping to return for Del Norte in September after a failed attempt in April 2020. It sounds like a 2022 Camino has a lot of of uncertainties. With it being a Holy Year, the Camino might be very crowded...
Hi Annie
I'll be starting in Irun on April 12th so might see you on the way. There is an amazing thread on this forum about the coastal alternatives for Del Norte. If you search for "Coastal Alternatives" you should stumble upon it easily.
Buen Camino
Thank you so much to everyone adding their wisdom to this thread. I'll be starting in Irun on April 12th and even though I'm notoriously good at getting lost, I will definitely try to find as many alternative routes as possible. I suppose you can't get lost too much as long as the beach is on...
Also planning Del Norte from the second week of April 2020. With my previous Camino we started a conversation here with everyone starting more or less at the same time. Maybe we can do something similar? It helped a bit with traveling to the start etc.
