Camino Frances - Oct/Nov 2012
Hi guys,
So I did the french way in 2012 and I'm keen to get walking again. However this year I only have a week spare to walk. I would like to try the northern route. I'm not bothered by altitude or difficulty etc, but I would like the most scenic/beautiful part. Can anyone recommend the best place to start?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Hi dirob.
I would suggest either starting at the beginning in Irun, Santillana in the middle or Baamonde towards the end. All wil provide beautiful walks and the third option wil earn a Compostela, if you want one.
Cheers

Start at Irun and go home at Bilbao.
Come back and finish , its a great path.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I definitely agree with the advice above from Thornlee, start in Irun and head for Bilbao, if you cover the ground in time, then head on to Probena and /or Castro Udales and take the bus or train back to Bilbao when you finish. This will give you coastal paths, woods, mountain ridges, small towns and big cities. If you want more coast and beach walking, then starting in Bilbao and walking to Santander is also an option, either one will give you a wonderful week of walking. Buen Camino!

I did as far as Castro Urdiales. I will start there again in a couple of weeks. The walk from Bilbao is a beautiful walk. Been Camino.
