I have been here before, and a couple of years ago, I was pretty sure my wife was going to transition due to a nasty fight with cancer. Silly me. She lived with gusto for 2 more years. However, the inevitable came to pass, and she transitioned this year. We had seen the movie "The Way" and enjoyed it. We decided we wanted to hike it when I retired. Well? she will still hike it, just not in the physical form I would have chosen. That aside, she will be with me as I pass through this journey. leave wisps of her where it feels right. I will be spreading her ashes as the mood strikes. This is a solo journey as once again, i find myself reinventing my world. My first wife passed in 2001 from cancer as well. So will see what adventure waits around the next corner, but for now? the next adventure is walking the Camino in May. Buen Camino. May you all find peace on your travels.

I brought sone of my little mom’s ashes with me for my spring 2023 Camino in a heart locket and felt her presence constantly along the Way. She loved birds and roses which are everywhere as you journey along the path. My sincere condolences for your loss.

May your own camino bring you as many memories that evoke so much emotions as mine did for me. Buen Camino y ultreia.

Ah, you have a credencial. So, for more info...

...the Pilgrim's Office will only give you your Compostela/distance certificate, not a second for your wife. But you can add In Vicarie Pro to yours, as I mentioned.

The church of San Francisco, just down the street from the Pilgrim's Office walking away from the Cathedral, *will* give you two certificates of their own, which appear to have a Latin version of the Blessing on it. I've attached pictures...
