21 June is Fete de la Musique in France

Just in case you are starting your walk in France in the next few days, note that Saturday 21 June is Fete de la Musique, France's national music day. It's been described as a bit like St Patrick's Day but without the parade, the rain or the streetside vomiting. Apparently all over the country on Saturday there are free concerts, DJs, street bands, etc. for 24 hours. Sounds like a hoot, I wish I was there. What a great start that would be from Paris or St. Jean Pied de Port. Buen Camino!

Hey Michael - you're so right! Fete de la Musique is great! I sing in a band and we'll be dancing in the street until the early hours of the sunday morning... many towns and villages close the streets and party til the wee small hours
