Currently in Salamanca and start the VdlP tomorrow. I chose the VdlP because I wanted to clear my head of all of the "monkey chatter", have some solitude and see what lies underneath. I'm not much of a journaler (although I am going to really try this time). I came up with the idea of downloading a book of daily meditations that I could read at the end of the day to help me journal and have something to think about while I lay in bed or walk. So I chose one the night before I left (Journey to the Heart: Daily Meditations by Melody Beattie) and decided to start on the first meditation today as I get ready to walk tomorrow. It was so perfect I thought it would be great to share with everyone.

Honor the Beginning (shortened for here - on a cell phone and a lot to type)
Beginnings can be delicate or explosive. They can start almost invisibly or arrive with a Big Bang. Beginnings hold the promise of new lessons to be learned, new territory to be explored, and old lessons to be recalled, practiced, and appreciated. Beginnings hold ambiguity, promise, fear, and hope...
Choose carefully what you bring, because packing is an important ritual. Take along some humility and the lessons of the past. Toss in some curiosity and excitement about what you haven't yet learned. Say your good-byes to those you're leaving behind. Don't worry who you will meet or where you will go. The way has been prepared. The people you are to meet will be expecting you. A new journey has begun. Let it be magical. Let it unfold.

All parts of the journey are sacred and holy. Take time now to honor the beginning.

Isn't that perfect? Tomorrows meditation is titled "Map Your Own Journey"...can't wait to see what that one says. Kind of like a fortune cookie at the end of each day's walk!
Thanks for everyone's support and advice. I'll be signing off tomorrow and will re-emerge in April:)
