Hi Folks Can anyone tell me if the Municipal Albergues from Malaga to Cordoba are open at the moment. I'm leaving Malaga to walk on the 28th February 2024
Thank you

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Have you checked gronze.com?
I have walked that section and I don't remember many municipals.
The albergues at Almogia and Villanueva are not listed on gronze - not sure if that means they have close for the season or for good? I do think you can find private lodging, however.

Gronze doesn't show much info, the site appears to be still under construction for these sections. However, I walked the five days from Malaga to Encinas Reales in early November, and the municipals were all open. None of them were staffed so I would expect they are open all year.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

have you thought of walking from Almeria instead? If so Mozarabe Friends in Almeria would be able to help you.

Hi Tommy
I’m wondering like @mick53 whether you’d thought of starting from Almeria. Where the amigos will help you find accommodation and support you to Granada.

You could have a look at a new Mozárabe thread ‘also starting from Malaga ; just posted by @jpflavin1 who is planning to start in April 2024. You might find the info you’re seeking ; supplied on that thread ..

Buen camino.
Annie.

You shouldn't have any problems walking from Malaga. I didn't phone in advance but just arrived each day and sought out the key where necessary. Here's the association's webpage with stage distances and contact numbers:

Buen camino!

I started the Mozarabe on... I want to say March 3rd last year. All of the albergues listed on Gronze were open. Like @Flog said, they're unstaffed, more like a "call the police station or town hall the day before and let them know you're coming" sort of situation.

Edit: albergues listed on Gronze OR the official Camino Mozarabe page that Flog linked to. I forgot I used multiple sources on the Mozarabe.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
