Albergue de roncesvalles reservation

I have attempted to make a reservation for a night at the roncesvalles albergue. Each time it has declined my credit card. I tried a couple different cards and finally went to my credit union to verify that it can be used for purchases in Spain. It was verified that it can be used for purchases in Spain so I tried again and still declined. I have used my computer, my smart phone and my Amazon fire each method declined. I contacted the albergue and they told me it's a problem with my card that they have vacancies for that date. Does any one have any suggestions on what I need to do. Thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

What has happened to the simplicity of the Camino? Am thoroughly discussed with all this technology in doing something as simply as walking towards a goal?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

No suggestions, but want this answer also, as my perfectly good us visa card was also declined and i cannot make reservations either!

Have you checked with your bank? If an unexpected foreign charge appears, many banks automatically will not accept them--expecting fraud. A phone call or email to the bank's customer service will straighten this out. Also, inform the bank(s) before you leave that will be in Spain so that they will accept charges while you are there.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

I am starting mine on Wednesday of next week. I had booked but had loads of problem trying to book on line with my credit card, so I emailed them and gave card details over the phone. They were really helpful.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Also, many times USA credit cards are declined because you put in the dates wrong.
Here, February 7, 2018 would be written 02/07/2018 but in SPAIN it would be 07/02/2018.
I did correct that in one of my attempts but still got declined. I am thankful for all of your replies. I will try paypal, and if that doesnt work i will email them. So good to know i will have you all along with me on my journey...what could go wrong with such a cadre of good friends in my backpack?!

I had the same problem using my credit card. I got a "masterpass" account to do the reservation, since they don´t have paypal option on the website.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

I had the same problem when I tried to book but if you email them, they will respond pretty quickly.

It really is worth booking this one as it gets very busy!

I was there on the 23/4 and was glad I had booked because many were turned away when they arrived after 3!

Am rather shocked to find out that people now also can and find it necessary to reserve at the beautiful, but large albergue de peregrinos in Roncevalles! I'm struggling to mentally prepare myself for the vast changes that seemed to have happened in the last few years... At least reading this forum before I set off again next month, helps to form a picture of the new reality I ll face and undoubtedly must accept for my own peace of mind.
