Albergue San Andres Zariquiegui

Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
Does anyone know if this albergue is open or will be open by 10 April? There is nothing on Gronze, but it is mentioned on CaminoSleeps. Being able to stay there would make my Achilles management so much easier than taking busses back and forth from Pamplona! Alternatively, does anyone know of any other accommodation nearby that is not on the main platforms?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-

We stayed there in 2016, but it has been closed on and off the last few years since Covid. I am not sure I would count on it being open.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Google shows reviews from 11 months ago through to 5 months ago. So, it's likely it will be open in April.

It was clearly closed for a few years as the older reviews are from 4 years ago.

If you can pace yourself, and reach the first albergue on the left in Uterga, that might help.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thanks @Kirkie and @Bill's_Walking for your suggestions. I am planning on walking to Cizur Menor the first day but because the albergue will not be open (and the AirBnb option I found has not replied) I expect to take the bus back to Pamplona and then bus back to CM the next morning and then head to Uterga where I have a reservation. I just thought if Zariquiegui had something it would save the back-and-forth. I realise it would make for a very short day, but that is exactly what I'm trying to do!!

I stayed at San Andres in September 2023. It was comfortable and the pilgrim meal very filling. The young man who was running the shop also was in charge of accommodation registrations.
