Albergue to recommend in Fromista?

I think Fromista looks like a nice little place, so decided to start there. My train arrives at 7.40pm, so, would like a place to stay not far from the train station, and, not very far from a restaurant or other places to have an evening meal. I can't really find it in maps (or do not find it very fun to investigate..). So, any suggestions, not too expencive nice albergue or other kind over stay-overs? Thank you very much :)

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I really liked the albergue Luz de Fromista.

Very good pilgrim atmosphere. Has the heart in the right place. It's a private albergue but has more camino spirit than the municipal in town, in my opinion. I think they might also have private rooms?

Has a kitchen, and restaurants are not far (Fromista is small, so nothing really is far away).

Buen Camino!

I enjoyed the Hotel San Martin, a quaint hotel across from the church with very friendly staff. As I recall, it was around 50E in March, so will be seasonally higher.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I would NOT recommend Albergue Estrella del Camino. When I stayed there, they advertised meals (pilgrim dinner and breakfast) but did not actually offer them. When I arrived, a French woman was having trouble checking in. She did not speak Spanish but had had a Spanish speaker reserve a spot for her. The owner did nothing but insult her in Spanish, saying she should speak the language if she wanted a bed. I helped her as best I could and she finally was given a spot, but that all left a bad taste in my mouth. The room itself was fine but crowded and noisy, the “three” rooms were really one space with pseudo doors but everyone had to use the one bathroom at the point of entry. The advertised washing machine did not exist though there was a hand washing sink and line to hang items to dry. The communal cooking space was outdoors and had minimal equipment. There was not even any dish soap to wash the communal dishes, you could only rinse them off. Want to share germs, anyone? 😱

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I, too, recommend "Luz de Fromista". It is owned by forum member @gmag (Gabriel & Anita). Had I known about it in the past I would have stayed there. I just googled and the albergue has avery high rating.

Echoing the sentiments of @KathyRugg and @VNwalking about Estrella del Camino.
That owner is really something else.
Re:food availability. He told me that he needs a minimum of 10 folks to be able to make dinner else it simply does not pay for him to go through the hustle and "so far I was the only one ". I kinda saw merit in it and said OK no problem. I later found out from other Pilgrims staying there that he gave the same spiel to all of them! He simply just didn't want to be bothered 😕
Everything about the room and bathroom is true and in addition hardly any bedding was provided- the only time I was TRULY GLAD that I had a liner, else I'd be sleeping on the rubber mattress...

....back to the food - his stupid trick turned out to be a blessing as I had me the BEST IBERIAN RIBS EVER
Fomista dinner at El Chiringuito Del Cam

The cherry on yhe top of my not so nice stay there happened in the morning. I was a bit too eager to get out of there ASAP, so of course left my poles inside the locked outer gate - you could let yourself out but not in. It was a long way from the albergue section of the property, so I couldn't get the attention of others inside. So I had no choice but to call the owner - and you'd have thought I'd committed a capital crime. Yes, it was an awful time by Spanish standards. Yes, l'd been careless. But the abuse I got was loud and pretty intense. Fortunately I only understood a fraction of it.
