Hola

I've just posted the analysis for the first 6 months of 2013. There is a 7% reduction in the number of Spanish pilgrims whilst other countries particularly the USA continue to grow significantly/ Earlier predictions of a downward trend in overall number prove to be wrong with a 12% increase in this period compared to last year.

The full analysis is here: http://www.johnniewalker-santiago.blogspot.com

Best regards

John

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Wow! That's a big increase for the Americans, and an interesting continuing increase for the other English-speaking sources as well.

Thanks for this, John!

I already knew the pilgrim numbers have increased greatly over the past years, but it's quite astonishing to see the exact stats (I agree with Kitsambler: Americans from around 1100 to 4500 in 4 years!). Also found the variety in starting places fascinating with lots of <1% towns.

I'll be starting my Camino from SJPdP - it's a bit of a relief that 'only' 13,5 percent of the pilgrims start here. Summer will probably be busy, but at least it's relatively less crowded in the beginning. Looking forward to the adventure.

Buen Camino,

Tom

Hello, I'm not doing the Camino (yet), so I don't know if this question fits in this forum... But I'm looking for advice and I think this is the best place. I'm planning a three or four days trip...
