Hello there ! I am taking a road trip from New Orleans, to Chicago, Vermont, NH, then off to London!! Will be arriving in StJPP and starting my Camino on April 1,2016. Anyone else on that time frame?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

I plan to start April fools Day, also. If you are driving from New Orleans to Chicago you will go right past me. If you have time, stop/stay over in Madison, Mississippi.

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
April 1? Four days after Easter! A shame to miss such a glorious time on the Camino. True, the flowers will still be blooming in the churches, lamb will be cheap in the restaurants, and all the albergues will be open b-u-t you will have missed the celebrations, the processions, the joyful masses, the fellowship of so many people and pilgrims together. Easter is my favorite time to be on the Camino and I wouldn't miss it for the world!

I wish I had posted more during my planning/timing phase. I actually planned to miss easter, cuz it was my understanding that ALOT of places were closed due to the holiday, and it was hard to find places to stay and eat. Now I am sorry I will miss it, but it brings me joy to see you in those celebrations in my minds eye!!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You can check out the calendar (here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/calendar/ or there is a link in the title bar area). Some people also post their start dates in the specific year threads, which seems to suit some people but I find it easier to see in a calendar.
Doug - Happy New Year!
How does one actually post on that Calendar page?
I know I'm particularly thick, and my six year old grandson would probably know instantly.
But there no obvious way of writing on the calendar.

Not Doug, but I answer anyway ;-) Start a new thread in the pilgrims introduction section and then
Add your Start date to our Camino Calendar. 1) Start a new Thread about your Camino plans 2) After thread has been created, select "Thread Tools" above your post (over to the right). Then select "Calendar Add". More instructions here.

@ivar it might be a good idea to post these instructions also on the top of the calendar section ...

Buen Camino, SY

@SY... good idea. BUT.. I prefer just showing up and meeting all the smiling faces first off. With no pre-booked meetings

The calendar function does not mean you have 'pre-booked meetings', just that you have let others know your start date (and possibly where you intend to start from and the time you expect to finish).

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I simply answered a question asked by another forum member. Buen Camino, SY
Yes - and thank you for that SY.
Announcing my intention to walk the Sureste next month, certainly doesn't make me expect to find anyone else on that camino!!
All the best for 2016 SY .... and thank you.

I will be near your time frame from Logroño.
You will probably be two days ahead, when I start in Logroño.
But I intend to be fast in first week, so I may catch up :)
Does it say "Gypsywind" on your backpack :)

Buen camino,
Jan
