Time of past OR future Camino
VdlP September/October 2016
Hi all, I'm new in the camino-world but planning to go for it this year. Somehow I am drawn to the VdlP. I have to be back home between 3-17 May. I could walk before, starting beginning of April and not do the whole camino, or after. I think before it might still be cold? I've read that August is almost impossible, but if I start end of May, and walk during June, maybe a bit of July (I'm not an experienced hiker and will not walk 30 km every day), would that too hot already?

cheers,
Susan

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The daily highs in June in Sevilla are 75 to 100F, generally around 90. In April the temperatures are 65 to 80F, generally 70F.

I have a similar kind of query, so I hope Susan doesn't mind me jumping into this thread... it's not my intention to hijack it! ;-)

I hope to have the opportunity to walk a Camino route in July and August this year, ideally starting at the beginning of July. I walked the full Camino Frances in 2012 and the Camino Portugues from just outside Porto in 2013, so I have a reasonable handle on the physical challenge involved. I'm considering walking the Norte or the Via de la Plata this year, but can't quite decide which one I'm most drawn to. Obviously, temperature on the VdlP when walking from Seville in July would be an issue, but just how bad would it be? For the record, I'm Irish, so I'm not accustomed to extreme heat. I'm guessing in 2012 and 2013 the hottest temperatures I faced while walking would have been around 32-33C/88-91F, and I coped reasonably well with that.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
