Hello all. Anyone starting in early April? I will arrive in StJPP on March 31st, 2016 and plan on heading out April 1st, probably the Valcarlos side, as Orrison emailed me and said I would need to call them the day before I leave to see if they are open, and I don't think my brain will be ready to be spontaneous on my first day out !!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Hello, I look forward to seeing you along the way. If all goes well I will arrive in SJPP on March 30. I am waiting to see what the weather sends to decide which trek from SJPP to Roncesvalles, but perhaps we will run into each other. Buen Camino!

Hi we will arrive in SJPP on the 30 March, and had planned to walk to Orisson on the 31st. But it is news to us that Orisson might not be open. Does anyone else have info on this - are we too early? We really want to walk over the top!

Orisson is only open if the 'high road' over the pyrenees is open, which makes sense if you think about it. As for 'We really want to walk over the top!' Please take the weather/snow situation in account, what you want isn't always what is right for you. Buen Camino, SY

Well, let's look for each other. IA m starting to worry about not hearing from ANYONE that is actually starting the same time as me. Am I going too early? Well, it's done, if the weather is too bad, I will just hang out somewhere. So, your a veteran of the Camino Francis? I hope I do see you, I am 1st time, and solo!!

Hi Gypsy

The vast majority of people who walk the camino have never never accessed the forum or even heard of it, so don't worry that other people may not be leaving when you are. You will have company.

There's a new thread up about the Napoleon route being officially closed until April 1st. After that, it's weather-dependent. I'm booked into Orisson on April 18th, depending on weather. Hope to see some of you there or in Roncavalles!
