Are you in Burgos? Can you help a peregrina out?

Camino Frances (2017, 2023)
So, somewhat of an unusual request.

I hiked the Camino last summer - oh goodness, two summers ago now. Man, how time flies! :D Anyway, while I was in Burgos, I went to the Monastery of Los Heulgas, and they had a book I wanted to get. It was 5 lbs, and not wanting to carry the weight, and figuring I could order a copy once I was back in the States, I didn't purchase it.

Unfortunately, I can't purchase it here. Nor can I find it on sale anywhere. Any chance someone in Burgos would be willing to go to the monastery bookstore and mail me a copy? Of course, I'd be willing to pay for the book, postage, and something for your time.

I know it's a long shot, but I appreciate it if you can help!

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Can't you order it directly from the Convent. I saw that on their website there is a catalogue with some books in it. There is an emailadress. Of course I don't know for sure if they send books oversees but it is an online shop

I can't seem to find a website other than the "reserve tickets" website and I definitely can't find an email address. Any chance you could post those links or PM me?

Thanks!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
This afternoon I could reach the website of the convent, at the moment the site cannot be reached. It was called "monasteriodeloshuelgas" It is in Spanish. I will try again tomorrow

I Could open a copy of the website but still could not reach the website itself. The address is : monasteriodelashuelgas.org If you manage to get there you can scroll down. Under "Destacamos" the right picture links you to the catalogue. In this catalogue you will find also products of other convents

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I have the website open now. The catalogue is from 2014 2015, it mentions products of other cistercienzer convents as well. There is a emailadress, if you cannot reach the website you could mail them. The adress is: ocsosmrlh@planalfa.es. I hope you will get your book

Scroll to DESTACAMOS - Click on the CATÁLOGO icon. The catalog lists items from all the Cistercian monasteries in Spain. When I clicked in LIBROS, it took me to LICORES. Just scroll to page 23. That's where LIBROS starts. Don't know if your book is listed, but good luck.

This may help too:

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I had the same experience in 2016- I assumed I could purchase the heavier books once home only to run into problems. Very frustrating and disappointing. If you still haven’t worked this out, I would suggest trying one of the European Amazon sites such as Amazon.de (German, has an English language version) which reflects inits listings the great Getman interest in the “Jakobsweg”. Also, the books you are searching for are often found used, sometimes frommultiple sellers, either on eBay or on Alibris which lists books from most of the used book stores in the US. Between the above I obtained all of the books I was looking for. If all else fails, I am planning a CF in September!

I guess the 'deed of the wisdom' would be to buy it and then immediately ship it home via Correos. If one is willing to incur the costs "later on" might as well do it right there and then
