Arrows Anonymous

nousername

New Member
Hi,

My name is nousername, and i am addicted to yellow arrows. To this effect i thought of putting in place an organisation for other addicts like me.

Such an organisation may be aptly named AA (arrows anonymous), instead i realized that this forum may have members that share my addiction.

Therefore here i place the first rules of recovering pilgrims.

1.Thou shall not want yellow arrows
2.All arrows are equal

If you share my sentiment please feel free to add to the rules for recovery as above

A selection of Camino Jewellery
It's true. I really miss those darn yellow arrows. And unfortunately life doesn't come with yellow arrows to tell us which way to go. Life was simple then. If i had a decision to make I'd stop and look for a yellow arrow..... nothing else to think about all day. In fact my mind was pretty much empty
except for my awareness of yellow arrows. I've been tempted to paint a few in my house just for fun but no one else would get it and they's think I'm a bit crazy. Last night I was out walking (in the rain) and there was a yellow arrow on the sidewalk. It turns out it was marking a water main, but it made me smile anyway. I really miss the Camino.

It is essential that we members of the AA have a way of recognising each other.

I recommend the little lapel badge of the yellow arrow available in shops all along the Camino.

You can pin this to your suit, dress or whatever as a sign of our suffering, our confraternity and our desperate need to get back to Spain to see them again.

When all else fails, you can stand in front of your mirror, look at the arrow in your reflection and know that all you need to get through today is a glimpse of that arrow.

4. You are never alone when you have your arrow.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all yellow arrows are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creators with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Permanence, Liberty (to be placed where they are needed) and the pursuit of Happiness (gained by directing pilgrims along the correct path)"

Fingal County Council has also been marking drains with yellow arrows. Some days I'm afraid I might follow one and end up head down, feet up in water drain that does not lead to Santiago de Compostela

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Hi,

First I would like to thank all you kind people for the wise words of wisdom and tremendous support I have received, ya'll are awesome. Especially for all the arrows posted on this forum thread

The good news is that its been 3 weeks since my last arrow.I find this very difficult and am in dire need of a mentor to help me through this horrible period in my life.

Can anyone show me the direction of closest arrow preferably pointing to the next group gathering?

The following rules as also been added for review:

4.You can have as much drinks as you like

5.Each group has but one primary purpose—to carry its message to the pilgrim who still suffers.

HHmm, yes, your yellow arrow addiction is rather deeply set. As with all addictions complete abstinence and taking one day at a time is the accepted way to go.

You have done very well lasting 3 weeks - that's 21 days, almost a Camino! But if the desire and need for yellow arrows remains as strong as ever there is a rather controversial method of relieving the cravings and longings for those indicative little rascals and it is quite simple - place your own yellow arrows, create your own trails.
You could start small by carrying a yellow marker pen and (dead of night preferable) perhaps you could yellow arrow mark your route from home to the library or even the oldest church.

If this doesn't release enough of the loss and tension you could get a tin of yellow paint and a good brush and perhaps lay out a route in your town from a particular A to B (dead of night preferable).
There are many possibilities
1 the loudest and most violent nightclub to the police station?
2 a cycling route from the wholefood shop to the recycling centre?
3 from the Anglican church to the Catholic church (for those vicars who are opposed to female ordination)?
4 I'm certain that others may have suggestions

hope this helps
