Astorga

I originally was going to start in Cebreiro, but now I am thinking that I would like to walk further, so I am planning on starting in Astorga around Sept 7th. If anyone has information on getting here from Santiago, a recommendation for a hotel where I can make a reservation for the first night &* where I can pick up a compostela--I would appreciate the information. Of course, any other recommendations would be appreciated as well. This is my first time & I am both excited & a bit apprehensive. I want to be able to make it to Finisterre.
Thanks-Dusty

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Wise choice to start a bit further back.
ALSA.es has buses between Santiago and Astorga at 8am 9h45 13h45 and 21h40.
They take about 5.5hours and cost 20.02 euro.
You could book into one of the private albergues. There is one just 3.5kms from Astorga:

Have a great walk.
