planning portuguese way
Thinking of doing the Portuguese way starting in Porto in December, for solitude, and because that is when I'm off. I don't mind the weather.

How is the availability of accommodation nowadays? Do most places still close? Is it a problem, or just an inconvenience?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

I walked the Portugues last month (beginning February 19th). The municipal albergues were open but several of the private albergues were closed. A couple had notices by the door saying that they would be re-opening on March 1st so perhaps that is normal practice on the Portugues? As I tend to walk quite long stages it was more of an inconvenience than a serious problem.

You should expect closures after October, but hotels will be open as alternatives.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
