Hi All, I have been researching the possibility of spending a few days at the beach after Santiago. Lots of info but hard to find exactly what I'm looking for - has anyone stayed in a hostel near the beach in that area that you would recommend?
Thanks!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Fisterra, Muxia, A Coruna, Ferrol? These are all finish/start places of different Caminos. GoogleMaps them.
As for really tourist places near SdC there are Noia an Muros to the west. They are both on the bus line Fisterra-Santiago.

Enjoy!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
La Coruna is on the coast and is an approximate 50-minute train ride from Santiago. There are many trains each day. The train station in La Coruna is NOT in the center of the city or very near the seacoast. But buses are available at the train station.

Bear in mind that this is summer, and peak beach season. You cannot expect to find "pilgrim pricing" at beach area accommodations.

The Galicia Office of Tourism, located at the Pilgrim Office (other side of the courtyard) will be able to help you with lodging. There is also both RENFE (train) and ALSA (bus) counters down the hall from the Pilgrim Office, in the same building. It has become a one-stop shop.

I hope this helps.

Yes! A few km before Finesterre is Hotel Alan do Mar...It is a very nice hotel, the people are super (mostly French and English speakers, I think), the breakfast was fabulous, and it's a quick walk to the beach. You can open the window in your room and hear the surf all night long! I even had the beach all to myself for sunrise in the morning. I hate even telling anyone about it. =)
