Camino Mozárabe when we can again...(2021?)
We are thinking of staying in the above Casa Rural but just read a very recent review about it having been infested with bedbugs. Really hoping anyone can advice to the contrary as we have plans to stay there tomorrow....TIA! Patty

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Did you find that review on Gronze? Casa Nuñez? Two reports (one first hand and one second hand) of bedbugs there from a week ago.

FWIW, I stayed at Albergue da Rosario in Campobecerros and I thought it was pretty decent. Single dormitory / mens and womens showers / washing machine and dryer in basement.

Thanks, Raggy, yes Indid see them and that’s what worried me. Never have experienced bedbugs so don’t know how soon the landlord could get rid of them. Might skip this one then. So close to SdC now don’t need complications. Thanks for your reply!

You won't regret staying at the Albergue. It's basic but clean.
I see that Casa Nuñez didn't get great reviews on Gronze, even before the bedbug report. That makes sense to me. When I had dinner there with another pilgrim, we both felt a little less than welcome. There was nothing wrong with the food but no warm feeling from the owners. My friend described them as stand-offish mountain people. Although it's wrong to think in stereotypes, this one seemed to encapsulate the situation. Perhaps if we knew a few phrases in Galego, we might have broken the ice. The whole village is bilingual (Galego + standard Spanish).
Worth noting - Nothing in the village was open in the morning. Buy something for breakfast when you arrive.
