Can't believe I didn't know about this - I live in St Andrews! Any idea who's behind the "Way of St Andrews" revival?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks for this Jeff, it will be interesting to see what the charge will be. In England the cost per person per night for champing has been around £30 which mounts up if you are going as a family, but it is a great initiative none the less. Of course there is the old pilgrimage route down to St Ninian's Cave near Whithorn in Galloway. We have a member of the forum who lives near by so perhaps he might add some details.

Great idea, but the following sentence made me shake my head:

"Those who go on the Camino, the great pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, can often stay in converted churches where they can eat, sleep, and drink for about €10 a night."

Buen Camino, SY

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Then this may be of interest. Champing - camping in churches!

Slighe cheart!
Jeff, this is very good news and thanks for posting it! The John Muir Way has been on my list for years, but the limited accommodations along the way seem to be booked up far ahead and on the pricey side. I'd probably take Scotrail up to visit Stirling and then back to Linlithgow or Dalmany, though, and start there. Good to see there is plenty of coastal/bay walking.

Thanks to Jeff for the post. I was going to ask Ivar to add this to the "Other Pilgrimage Routes" section on this Forum. It turns out the forum itself is forum: meaning it has info and you can register/ask questions/exchange ideas much like this one. Just click on the link above Jeff has provided.
