After paying way to much for my verizon international coverage last year, I want to use a Spanish SIM card in my iphone for this years Camino phase. Google map directions seem to use a lot of data even if used only in larger cities. Any opinions (opinions on this forum? Who would think? Grin.) about best coverage on the Meseta or all the way Logrono to Leon? Orange or Vidaphone?

Also, are there outlets to purchase (and have shop install!) mini SIM at Barcelona airport or near renfe station in Barcelona or Logrono?

I used a prepaid from Movistar for a 1-month duration, worked fine; IMPORTANT: Make sure that your iPhone is unlocked by your provider!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I had dead zones with Orange in Hornillos and some spots on the Meseta.
I would go with https://www.tuenti.com/movil which is the prepaid division of Movistar.

Also, if your Verizon iPhone is a 5, 5C, or 5S, it is unlocked for international use.
