Calle Laurel ? Once pintxo heaven, these days sadly packed with far too many people. far too expensive, and far too many watering holes. Slide off Calle Laurel, any approach or side street or alley and follow your eyes/nose/mouth. You'll know what you like.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

I beg to differ..there are still some high quality places to explore!
Just try to avoid the most busy moments.

Won't argue, will admit that I am spoiled, after Donostia/San Sebastián most other places are simply also rans.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

So which did you prefer?
Well i tried Bar Angel first and they were excellent. Then we walked over to Bar Soriano but they were closed for vacation. I gave Bar Angel a 8.5 rating and checked my notes from 2016 when I had the mushroom Tower at Bar Soriano and gave it a 7.5. So I guess it’s Bar Angel but I imagine it is a toss up .

So here’s what I did, oh so many years ago on my first Francés. We had the name of one place, maybe it’s Bar Angel. Does Bar Angel’s mushroom have a little shrimp on top?

Anyway, the strategy, which works in tapas bars everywhere in Spain, is to say — We came to your bar because it was recommended as the best place in town. We’re only going to be in town for one night, so where would you recommend for the next best tapas in town? We have never been steered wrong. In Logroño, I think we dragged this out for four places, and always got a great recommendation. Buen camino, Laurie
