I am starting my Norte Camino in Santander. Where would be the best place to get my first stamp? Is there a cathedral office or a pilgrim register office?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Presumably you know there is a pilgrims’ refuge in Santander? If open you should be able to get your stamp there.

There's a cathedral http://www.diocesisdesantander.com/catedral-2/ no pilgrim's office. I vaguely remember an hour or two squandered enjoying the building while various, variously enthusiastic, servants spent time trying to track down a sello for me

Your overnight accommodation, one of the Tourismos or the bar you grab breakfast in will all do for a first stamp.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
As I remember you have to go to a door outside to get the stamp at the cathedral in Santander. Almost like the staff entrance, maybe the door to the presbytery. The first year I walked I asked and that's where I had to go. The downstairs chapel is worth a look if you have a spare half an hour and the main church is pretty sweet as well.

Go to the cathedral and ask one of the attendants, explaining what you want. They will take you to the side door where you go in to get the stamp. I've done it a couple of times

I walked from Santander in 2016 having arrived by the ferry from Portsmouth. The cathedral is a short walk from where you get off the ship, and you can get your sello there.
